I was recently reminded of the scripture that speaks about being fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14). What did the author mean as he was writing this Psalm? What experience would provoke him to us the works fearfully and wonderfully? I could not help but to think about all my fellow gay brothers and sisters who need to here this message. Not that it is limited to a certain group, but for me, I feel that my location in which I sense God’s calling is within the gay and lesbian community around spiritual reconciliation. So many have walked away or have been pushed away from the faith. This is a shame, which drives me to continue speaking out on this blog as well as other avenues when opportunities arise. Not only do I pray that God continue to direct my path in fulfilling my calling, but most of all, may you follow God concerning your path that God has planned for you.

As with the first Sunday of Lent, it is the time for the Right of Sending and the Rite of Election for members of the RCIA programs throughout the country. If you attend mass on this Sunday you may see people at the front of your church. They may be using words like Candidate and Catechumen. The RCIA program is the program where adults wishing to become Catholic join to gain education on the church. They learn about the sacraments and how they differ from their previous churchs. Some come and are unbaptized and they are approached a little different but are still accepted into the program.

I am a strong believer in the separation of church and state. Living in the US, I find too often many pastors and religious leaders over step this established boundary. When I recently came across the word, theofascism, I knew exactly what it meant due to my theology training and from being a history fanatic. So what does it mean professor in training?
