Scarves and Men
Whoever said fashion is for women must look a little more closely into the latest trend alerts! Men are slowly and steadily waking up to new clothes, colors and accessories everyday. The days when men were only concerned with jeans, t shirts and business suits are long gone. Now even jeans can be made to look formal if it is teamed with the right shirt and jacket. In fact scarves have also become a large part of men’s fashion, not only because they look cool when matched well with the rest of the outfit, but also because they help keep them warm.
Simple is the Key to Fashion
Men are taking to wearing mono colored scarves around their neck with shirts, jackets and even suits. As long as the material is cashmere or pashmina scarf, if it is the right color and length can make the dreariest of outfits look good. In fact since so many men wear colors such as blue, black and grey, many colors can be tamed well with them to add a difference to the ensemble.
If you are looking to buy a scarf for yourself then stick to sober colors. Don’t go for pinks and turquoise just yet. Scarves are new in the men’s fashion scene. If you want to experiment with the color, go ahead. But make sure that the rest of your outfit (whether it is a shirt or a jacket that you are wearing) blend in well with the color of your scarf. You don’t want to look like a different breed altogether on the road!
Scarves should Co ordinate with the Rest of the Outfit
If you are a woman looking to buy your man the best suited scarf, then keep the general order of his wardrobe in mind while making the decision. Make sure that the length of the scarf is not too long. This is mainly because, most men wear scarves for its practical purposes. This means that they will wear it outside on a cold afternoon or a rainy evening to keep the chill away from their throat. Solid colors are safe and stylish. They should be of such a length that they can be wrapped around once and still have enough length to fall well on the front.
Patterns can be Cool
If you still want to include a little pattern into the scarf for your boy, then stick to pinstripes or checks. These go well with most shirts. Usually it is better to wear a plain, colored scarf with a patterned shirt or a subtly patterned scarf with a plain shirt. This keeps the balance of the ensemble intact.
Black or blue suits are easy to experiment with scarves. Military green, red, dark brown, black, blue and even orange are good colors for men’s scarves. Don’t compare women’s scarves with men’s, because women mainly wear scarves for the style quotient.
Scarves can be teamed with leather jackets, trench coats, business suits as well as simple collared shirts.
