Many offices throughout the country have only so much room for client files and records and after being in business for years they opt to put older ones in storage. Often these vital documents are kept in a back room that is not well ventilated or air conditioned and in many cases, in storage units or warehouses. This is the case for many a doctor, lawyer or therapist offices, just to name a few. Many of the storage choices are chosen for the accommodating space and are not the ideal climate or environment. This can lead to disaster when trying to preserve your paper items. Some items, if they get damaged or destroyed, can never be replaced. So what do you do?

Files, records, books, etcetera are all vulnerable to temperature changes. Mold and mildew can attack viciously in a brief amount of time. Mildew - it stinks, it is the source of many allergies and it can be deadly and it is most definitely unhealthy. Apart from being unhealthy to you, keep in mind your precious documents. These are equally unhealthy to your documents as well.

Document freeze drying is a method that can restore damaged files, books and more. Document freeze drying is a process that was invented thousands of years ago for meat and vegetable preservation. But in today’s world similar methods make document freeze drying an innovative procedure that can save and restore vital documents and records. Not exactly a household name for now but it can be in time.

An example of the benefit of document freeze drying is with my chiropractor Dr. Bob. He came into the office late one day while I was waiting to receive my adjustment and was absolutely overwrought. Apparently his storage unit had an electrical fire earlier that day. Dr. Bob was extremely agitated and concerned due to the fact that his business was under audit and he was expected to have his records for the previous seven years. Five of the years were being stored in the now fire damaged unit. Dr. Bob was terribly afraid that the internal revenue service would think this a blatant attempt at arson. The short circuit was actually in the unit next to his, and it had caught on fire. Although his records were not burned they were badly covered in soot and ash.

His insurance company brought document freeze drying to Dr. Bob’s attention. They explained the process of document freeze drying and how it was the perfect solution for his dilemma. Document freeze drying is a procedure where an item is frozen like in cryogenics enabling the surface dirt, mold, mildew or soot to be removed without damage. His receptionist did an internet search and remarkably found a company that offered the document freeze drying right in their city. Although the procedure was expensive it was well worth it. And the good Doctor Bob felt it was a dime well spent and was thanking his lucky stars for the document freeze dry methods.
