When you are experiencing tooth pain and you cannot head out to the dentist right away, you want to make sure that you take the time that you need to understand how you are going to be wise about relieving that pain. There may be some remedies that can give you temporary relief.

First, you want to make sure that you try to apply oil of cloves. There are a lot of people that do not understand that you can pick this up at the pharmacy and you can use the oil of cloves directly on your teeth.

You have to make sure that you follow the direction on the bottle quickly. Taking the time that you need to understand how you do not minimize the amount of oil you ingest is very important because if you ingest too much you will find that you will poison your body.

While you are putting the oil on your tooth you want to make sure that you do not put any of the oil on your gums. You have to make sure that you do not put the oil on your gums because you will burn your gums if you put the oil on your gums.

Make sure that you understand that if you put the oil clove on your tooth you will find that it only temporarily relieves your pain. You have to make sure that you understand how to get a permanent pain reliever for your tooth.

Second, you will want to make sure that you are minimizing the swelling in your mouth. You have to be sure that you find a way to get the cold to your tooth and gums so that the swelling and pressure are able to decrease.

Make sure that you take the time that you need to hold a cold compress outside of your check where you are feeling the pain. You should be sure that you do not hold it against your skin for more than fifteen minutes.

A great way to be sure that you are able to work with the swelling is to alternate between fifteen minutes of cold and fifteen minutes of heat. This way, you can be sure that you are able to reduce the swelling without doing any nerve damage.

Throughout the whole time that you are attempting to relive pain you should be sure that you are keeping your head up. You want to be sure that you are elevating your head so you can minimize the blood flow to the painful area.

When you are able to put your head up you will also find that this decreases the throbbing that you feel. Be sure to be aware of the position of your head throughout the time that you are feeling any pain so that you can be sure to avoid painful positions.

Third, to make sure that you are able to get all of the food and debris out of the area that is experiencing the pain. This way, you can be sure that you have done all you can to minimize the pain that you are feeling in your mouth.

To remove the food you want to make sure that you first gently rinse your mouth with some warm salt water. You want to make sure that you take the time that you need to rinse your entire mouth very carefully.

While you are rinsing your mouth you should also make sure that you are taking time to floss. Although flossing may seem painful you have to make sure that you understand how you can thoroughly floss your entire mouth so that you get all of the debris and food out.

You should be sure that you take the time that you need to plug up the tooth if a piece has fallen out. Make sure that you take the time that you need to put some gauze of wax on your tooth to make sure that you do not get anything stuck inside of your tooth.

You should also be sure that you are taking the time that you need to be sure that you make an appointment as soon as you can. Your doctor may have another on call dentist that you can contact when you are in an emergency.

Take the time that you need to understand how you are going to be wise about the way that you are caring for your tooth. You want to make sure that you minimize the pain that you feel as soon as possible.
