A two-piece GPS watch features a separate GPS device which is needed to be worn on the body, externally from the wrist watch.The aerial in this type of watch is mounted separately from the watch and the user is required to attach it to the watch wirelessly.

Cyclists find the GPS watches to be very useful as it can measure the time, velocity and distance travelled which is of utmost importance for their sport.In the same manner, hikers and mountaineers can really use this gadget to assess the altitude which is not always very precise but can give an approximate calculation and tell the elevation from the sea level.

Navigation is supposed to be a very difficult task given that the journey route is not charted and there are plenty of twists and turns.But with the help of the GPS watches this task becomes much more simplified.The GPS watches can easily lead you through the cities, country sides and mountain trails by showing the exact coordinates and points.With the navigation enabled watch, one can set the destination and be very relaxed while on a journey as the watch takes care of everything.

There is a distinct advantage in knowing the number of steps one has walked during a workout.The GPS wrist watch with a Pedometer helps to accurately measure the number of steps taken along with the speed and the distance travelled.It also tells the number of calories being burned in the process.Pedometer is a powerful tool for walkers and other health-conscious individuals and also maximizes the results of the workouts.

Most of the watches available in the market today, have some or the other features mentioned above.It is entirely upon the user to verify his/her own requirement and buy the gadget which is most suitable.
