You will have a specific amount of time during which the time share is yours but you will be sharing the time share with others. The other people you are sharing this time share with may or may not be people that you know.
When they are not people that you know, you will have a governing body that will ensure the building is being taken care of properly. Ground rules will be set by this governing body and when they are broken someone can be there to take care of the problem.
Staying in a time share can be stressful because you have to take charge of your own cleaning and many people also have to take c are of their own cooking. Many people do not feel like they should have to cook or clean while they are on vacation.

When a time share does not seem like the right option for you, you can always rent a condo. Renting a condo will also present you with the problem of cooking and cleaning but you will not have any obligation to pay for anything after you leave the condo.
No matter how you choose to vacation you have to make sure that you are happy with what you do. Take the time to plan your vacation and your budget so that your money in a vacation is well spent.
